Inspired by the busy transit life of New York City and Tokyo. Solari is trapped in a bustling metropolis where she is stuck in a loop. She finds the 'transfer point" and feels she must get out. The song conveys the robotic /numb feeling of another day, another commute, surrounded by the pulsating energy of a busy city expressed by the bold synths.

The idea was to reflect the mechanization of a robotic/automatic society. The voices are more monotone and treated. Sort of like a futuristic Siri that follows you around. Solari is stuck in the city’s circulatory system. She finally hits the ‘heart’ aka ’transfer point’ and realizes she is trapped. The song is pivotal to the Solari EP because it’s when she first knows she must escape.

The beginning sequence was taken from a Japanese train announcement. “Need Want Use” are advertising and marketing messages that Solari gets while on the train system. She is constantly being stimulated to be trapped by the cycle of needing, wanting, using and repeating. Stuck in a cycle.

The transfer point - as spoken by Renée is the on-train announcement of our futuristic train. Renée also is Solari’s inner voice “I travelled far to get where I am”.

Much of the synthesizer sounds are from a Fenix modular. It’s a very rare modular synthesizer built by the original Holland based team that built the Synton Syrinx. They made twenty-five initial Fenix 1s and this is from that batch. There are only a total of 75 in existence now.

The pulse and beat of the bass and guitars are supposed to sound like being in city with a constant pulse. The drums are mostly Linn Drum Machine. Roger Linn designed this incredible drum machine that became one of the main sources of drum sounds in the 1980s. Synths : Mellotron, Minimoog, Fenix Modular, Arp 2600 and Arp 2500
